They ruined an ancient ruin…

The Ness of Brodgar is a Neolithic site in Orkney, occupied and built over for thousands of years. The remains form a dense field of walls, thresholds, and enclosures, shaped through successive phases of construction, use, and abandonment.

The work considers what it means to add to such a site. Rather than treating it as complete or fixed, the intervention is understood as another layer within an ongoing process. It does not attempt to restore or resolve what is there, but to continue it, acknowledging that the site has always been subject to change.
